My Reefing Journey - Who I Am
I am Julius. My reefing journey began in 2013 when I first laid eyes on a friend’s reef tank. Captivated, I knew I had to bring a piece of the ocean home. I started with a 150L tank, learning through trial and error, and yes, plenty of mistakes. Three years later, I took on the challenge of SPS corals and upgraded to my 600-liter tank—still thriving today. Now, as a seasoned reefer, every challenge
and every victory in this hobby has only deepened my passion for this beautiful world.
Where I am today in reefing
So my present day in reefing, I have still got my 600 litre reef tank dominated with SPS and some softy corals. The water from my 600 litre tank is pumped out to my man cave/fish room, where I have a few frag tanks with various frags growing that I’m nurturing and trading with fellow reefers. My current focus is refining the stability of my system, experimenting with nutrient control, and ensuring my reef is both thriving and sustainable. Every day, I’m still learning, fine-tuning, and loving this reefing journey that keeps me so immersed.
